Job Title: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Crawley and London, with flexible working options (40% office attendance encouraged but adaptable based on personal circumstances and geographical location).

What will you be doing?
As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design of renewable heating systems using unique solar technology and complementary low-carbon technologies.
- Manage and grow a talented team of engineers to deliver design projects from conception to completion.
- Prepare costed designs, including P&ID designs, solar array layouts, component sizing, structural analysis, and construction planning.
- Uphold health and safety standards, signing off designs where necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external engineers, and clients to develop reliable, economical systems.
- Provide technical support to the commercial team, assist in tendering processes, and engage with construction partners for costings.
- Present designs and proposals to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to product and software improvement initiatives for enhanced system performance.
Are you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate is:
- A qualified mechanical, HVAC, or building-services engineer with over 10 years of M&E design engineering experience.
- Educated with a relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Confident in delivering and signing off designs up to RIBA Stage 4 and beyond.
- Proficient in engineering drawing and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Experienced in HVAC, building services, and renewable technologies (solar preferred but not essential).
- Knowledgeable about relevant standards and regulations for commercial and industrial systems.
- Skilled in client interaction, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and construction processes.
