Who are we recruiting for?

We are searching for a highly qualified and motivated Operations Superintendent to join our client’s fleet department. Our client is a leader in the maritime industry, known for their unique approach to efficient and safe vessel operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the successful navigation and operational efficiency of their assigned vessels.

What will you be doing?

You will be performing a variety of dynamic and essential duties to maintain and enhance vessel operations:

• Ensure safe and efficient navigation, mooring, cargo, and ballast operations.
• Prepare responses for the commercial team and charterers.
• Implement the company’s Safety Management System.
• Supervise worldwide vessel operations and compliance.
• Review and oversee vessel discharge, loading, and tank cleaning plans.
• Liaise with charterers and principals on operational queries.
• Monitor navigational practices and vessel movements.
• Collaborate with Fleet Personnel Department on officer appointments and reviews.
• Arrange and respond to oil major/CDI inspections.
• Participate in risk assessment procedures and incident investigations.

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will bring strong qualifications and experience to this pivotal role:

• Extensive experience as a Chief Officer or above on chemical tankers.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team with excellent time management skills.
• A strong background in navigating complex maritime operations and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders, including charterers, principals, and P&I Clubs.
