Job Title: Hydrodynamics Engineer

What will you be doing?
As a Hydrodynamics Engineer, the successful candidate will:
- Perform hydrodynamics and mooring analyses for offshore and floating vessels, including jack-up and floating structures.
- Develop creative, safe, and efficient solutions to enhance workability in challenging offshore environments.
- Conduct global performance analysis, vessel motion predictions, and wave load assessments, including slamming and greenwater loads.
- Oversee anchoring and mooring system designs for projects such as FPSOs, windfloaters, and CALM buoys.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth project execution from tendering to final installation.
- Manage project tasks from the tender phase through to on-site execution and follow-up, ensuring projects meet safety, technical, and quality standards.
- Conduct and supervise numerical analyses using specialized software tools such as OrcaFlex, Ansys AQWA, Ariane, and Hydrostar.
- Develop Python scripts to support and automate hydrodynamic calculations, vessel performance analysis, and other technical tasks.
- Supervise or participate in model testing campaigns as required for project validation and research.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the continuous development of the team.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations in all engineering activities.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Educational Background: MSc degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Offshore, Maritime, Physics, or a related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the offshore or maritime sector, with a focus on hydrodynamics and vessel performance. Demonstrated experience with hydrodynamic and mooring analysis tools (e.g., Ansys AQWA, OrcaFlex, Hydrostar, Ariane).
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of floating wind, FPSOs, jack-up structures, and mooring system design. Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, for hydrodynamic simulations and automation. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Languages: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel internationally for on-site project execution, vessel follow-up, or client meetings.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in floating wind technical topics, familiarity with metocean data, and the ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
