Job Title: Marine Electrical Engineer

Who are we recruiting for?

We are recruiting for a prestigious client within the maritime industry, seeking a highly qualified Marine Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The client is known for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence in marine electrical engineering.

What will you be doing?

As a Marine Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Assist in the design of hardware products from concept through to production.
  • Translate customer requirements into precise, manufacturable designs.
  • Simulate, prototype, and analyze test data to refine product designs.
  • Develop and maintain FAT, HAT, SAT, Trials, and test plans/documentation.
  • Collaborate with the team to craft customer acceptance criteria for system and product delivery.
  • Develop and review design, testing, and commissioning documentation, including component selection and BOM creation.
  • Work with the software team to ensure products/systems are compatible with Voyager AI.

Are you the ideal candidate?

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in electrical system design and development, particularly low voltage DC systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant marine electrical/electronic safety standards.
  • Experience with programming languages, operating systems, networking, controllers, and electronics such as relays, D/A boards, and Controlled Area Networks.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Experience in the marine industry, with familiarity with marine terminology and marine electrical/electronic products.

Personal Skills:

  • Strong communication skills and a team player.
  • Ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis.
  • Confident and polite manner when interacting with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Marine electrical/electronic qualifications.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in electrical engineering.
  • CPD training in marine electrical or electrical engineering.
